Journal ArticleDOI
Interaction between molecules of hantavirus nucleocapsid protein.
TL;DR: Using chemical cross-linking and immunoblotting it was shown that the N protein from purified virus and from infected cell lysates as well as recombinant protein produced in a baculovirus expression system are capable of forming dimers, trimers and multimers, thus confirming the capacity of the protein molecules to interact with each other.
Journal ArticleDOI
European subtype tick-borne encephalitis virus in Ixodes persulcatus ticks.
TL;DR: The northernmost tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) focus is in Simo, Finnish Lapland, and the finding that TBEV RNA persists in rodents for months is found, indicating a focus with high activity.

TL;DR: All approved, investigational and experimental antiviral agents, which are safe in man, are reviewed, and 59 compounds that target at least three viral diseases are identified that could be expanded towards other viral diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Puumala virus infections in Finland: increased occupational risk for farmers.
TL;DR: Cases among farmers and the population living in similar conditions were compared, and cases among farmers contracted the disease earlier and more often than did the comparison group.
