Journal ArticleDOI

An efficient one-pot synthesis of symmetrical diselenides or ditellurides from halides with CuO nanopowder/Se0 or Te0/base.

TL;DR: A CuO nanopowder-catalyzed coupling reaction of aryl, alkyl, and heteroaryl iodides with elemental selenium and tellurium takes place in the presence of KOH at 90 degrees C in DMSO with good to excellent yields.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of new chiral aliphatic amino diselenides and their application as catalysts for the enantioselective addition of diethylzinc to aldehydes.

TL;DR: A set of chiral aliphatic amino diselenides have been synthesized from readily available starting materials in a straightforward synthetic route via the ring-opening reaction of the parent aziridines, and the influence of the alkyl group substituents on the stereoselectivity has been studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Renal and hepatic ALA-D activity and selected oxidative stress parameters of rats exposed to inorganic mercury and organoselenium compounds.

TL;DR: Results suggest that organoselenium compounds could not prevent mercury toxicity in vivo, and the protective effect of these compounds against mercury-induced increase of TBARS production in vitro is probably related to an antioxidant action rather than to mercury binding.
Journal ArticleDOI

CuO nanoparticles: an efficient and recyclable catalyst for cross-coupling reactions of organic diselenides with aryl boronic acids

TL;DR: In this article, an efficient and ligand-free cross-coupling reaction of organic diselenides with aryl boronic acids using a catalytic amount of CuO nanoparticles in DMSO at 100°C under air atmosphere was presented.
