Journal ArticleDOI

Structural effects on the magnetic and transport properties of perovskite A 1-x A' x MnO 3 (x=0.25, 0.30)

TL;DR: In this article, the evolution of the structural properties of the metal-insulator transition was determined as a function of temperature, average $A$-site radius and applied pressure for the ''optimal'' doping range $x=0.25,$ 0.30, by using high-resolution neutron powder diffraction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Charge, orbital, and magnetic ordering in La 0.5 Ca 0.5 MnO 3 s

TL;DR: In this article, an analysis of synchrotron x-ray and neutron powder diffraction data indicates that the anomalous and hysteretic behavior of the lattice parameters occurring between 225 K and 155 K is due to the development of a Jahn-Teller distortion of the octahedra, the orbitals being oriented perpendicular to the orthorhombic b axis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simultaneous structural, magnetic, and electronic transitions in La1-xCaxMnO3 with x=0.25 and 0.50.

TL;DR: The ferromagnetic transition for {ital x}=0.50 is accompanied by an unusual peak broadening terminating at {ital T}{sub {ital N}}, and this newly observed behavior can be explained assuming that multiple intermediate phases are simultaneously present in the sample.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural phenomena associated with the spin-state transition in LaCoO 3

TL;DR: In this article, high-resolution neutron powder diffraction in the temperature range $5l~Tl~1000\mathrm{K] was used to study the structural properties of the LaCoO+3 lattice.
