Radical Cyclization/ipso‐1,4‐Aryl Migration Cascade: Asymmetric Synthesis of 3,3‐Difluoro‐2‐propanoylbicyclo[3.3.0]octanes

TL;DR: A novel method for the asymmetric synthesis of 3,3-difluoro-2-propanoylbicyclo-[3.3.0]octanes involves an unprecedented intramolecular radical cyclization/ipso-1,4-aryl migration cascade.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anti-HIV-1 protostane triterpenes and digeranylbenzophenone from trunk bark and stems of Garcinia speciosa

TL;DR: This work represents the first report on the anti-HIV-1 activities of the protostane triterpenes and was active in HIV-1 RT assay, but toxic in the syncytium assay.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dichapetalin-type triterpenoids and lignans from the aerial parts of Phyllanthus acutissima.

TL;DR: Chemical investigation of the aerial parts of Phyllanthus acutissima resulted in the isolation of five new dichapetalin-type triterpenoids, acutISSimatriterpenes A-E, and two new lignans, acUTissimalignans A and B, along with two known lignan and three known ellagic acid derivatives.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cytotoxic coumarins from Mammea harmandii.

TL;DR: Two new naturally occurring coumarins, isomesuol and mammearin A, together with nine known Mammea coumarin 3-11 were isolated from the EtOAc extract of the leaves and twigs of MammeA harmandii and showed cytotoxicity against a panel of mammalian cancer cell lines.
Journal ArticleDOI

α,α-Difluoro-α-phenylsulfanylmethyl carbanion equivalent: a novel gem-difluoromethylenation of carbonyl compounds

TL;DR: In this paper, an α,α-difluoro-α-phenylsulfanyl-α trimethylsilylmethane (PhSCF2SiMe3) has been demonstrated as an α-carbanion equivalent.
