Journal ArticleDOI

Relaxation of TiO 2 ( 110 ) -( 1 × 1 ) Using Surface X-Ray Diffraction

TL;DR: In this article, surface x-ray diffraction has been used to determine the structural relaxations of the titanium planes, and the results of three independent calculations of the energy minimization structure were compared with the positions of the predicted positions of titanium atoms predicted by Ramamoorthy et al.
Journal ArticleDOI

Self-assembly of regioregular, amphiphilic polythiophenes into highly ordered pi -stacked conjugated polymer thin films and nanocircuits

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a regioregular, regiorespecific, alternating copolymers of polythiophenes that can be processed by the Langmuir-Blodgett technique into nanoscale structures, allowing the alkyl chains on one polymer to fill the void space.
Journal ArticleDOI

Atomistics of pre-nucleation layering of liquid metals at the interface with poor nucleants

TL;DR: In this article, a combination of X-ray crystal truncation rod analysis and ab initio molecular dynamics was used to probe the pre-nucleation liquid layering at the sapphire-aluminium solid/liquid interface.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bacterial S-Layer Protein Coupling to Lipids: X-Ray Reflectivity and Grazing Incidence Diffraction Studies

TL;DR: Analysis of the changes of the deduced electron density profiles in terms of a molecular interpretation shows that the phosphatidylethanolamine headgroups must reorient toward the surface normal to accommodate such changes.
