Acute SARS-CoV-2 Infection Impairs Dendritic Cell and T Cell Responses

TL;DR: Investigating 17 acute and 24 convalescent patients found that acute SARS-CoV-2 infection resulted in broad immune cell reduction including T, NK, monocyte and dendritic cell (DC) and DCs were significantly reduced with functional impairment, and cDC:pDC ratios were increased among acute severe patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acute SARS-CoV-2 Infection Impairs Dendritic Cell and T Cell Responses

TL;DR: Investigating acute SARS-CoV-2 infection resulted in broad immune cell reduction including T cells, NK cell, monocytes and dendritic cells (DCs), providing evidence that impaired DCs, together with timely inverted strong antibody but weak CD8 T cell responses might contribute to acute COVID-19 pathogenesis and have implications to vaccine development.
Journal ArticleDOI

Epidemiology and outcomes of early-onset AKI in COVID-19-related ARDS in comparison with non-COVID-19-related ARDS: insights from two prospective global cohort studies

TL;DR: The LUNG-SAFE study was an international prospective cohort study of patients with severe respiratory failure, including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and non-COVID-19-related ARDS as mentioned in this paper .
Journal ArticleDOI
