Entanglement-based quantum communication over 144km
Rupert Ursin,F. Tiefenbacher,F. Tiefenbacher,T. Schmitt-Manderbach,Henning Weier,Thomas Scheidl,Thomas Scheidl,M. Lindenthal,B. Blauensteiner,Thomas Jennewein,Josep Perdigues,Pavel Trojek,B. Omer,M. Furst,M. Meyenburg,John Rarity,Zoran Sodnik,Cesare Barbieri,Harald Weinfurter,Anton Zeilinger +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate entanglement-based quantum key distribution over 144 km in a free-space link between the Canary Island of La Palma and the European Space Station of Tenerife.
Journal ArticleDOI
Free-Space distribution of entanglement and single photons over 144 km
Rupert Ursin,F. Tiefenbacher,T. Schmitt-Manderbach,Henning Weier,Thomas Scheidl,M. Lindenthal,B. Blauensteiner,Thomas Jennewein,Josep Perdigues,Pavel Trojek,B. Oemer,M. Fuerst,M. Meyenburg,J. G. Rarity,Zoran Sodnik,Cesare Barbieri,H. Weinfurter,Anton Zeilinger +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the violation of the CHSH inequality measured by two observers separated by 144 km between the Canary Islands of La Palma and Tenerife via an optical free-space link using the Optical Ground Station (OGS) of the European Space Agency (ESA).
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental single qubit quantum secret sharing.
Christian Schmid,Pavel Trojek,Mohamed Bourennane,Christian Kurtsiefer,Marek Żukowski,Harald Weinfurter +5 more
TL;DR: A simple and practical protocol for the solution of a secure multiparty communication task, the secret sharing, and its proof-of-principle experimental realization, in which a secret is split among several parties in a way that its reconstruction requires the collaboration of the participating parties.
Journal ArticleDOI
A high-brightness source of polarization-entangled photons optimized for applications in free space.
Fabian Steinlechner,Pavel Trojek,Marc Jofre,Henning Weier,Daniel Perez,Thomas Jennewein,Rupert Ursin,John Rarity,Morgan W. Mitchell,Juan P. Torres,Harald Weinfurter,Valerio Pruneri +11 more
TL;DR: This work presents a simple but highly efficient source of polarization entangled photons based on SPDC in bulk PPKTP that is expected to exceed the brightness achieved in current schemes by at least an order of magnitude.
Journal ArticleDOI
Collinear source of polarization-entangled photon pairs at nondegenerate wavelengths
Pavel Trojek,Harald Weinfurter +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple but highly efficient source of polarization-entangled photon pairs at non-degenerate wavelengths is presented, where the fully collinear configuration of the source enables very high coupling efficiency into a single optical mode and allows the use of long nonlinear crystals.
