Significant-Loophole-Free Test of Bell's Theorem with Entangled Photons
Marissa Giustina,Marissa Giustina,Marijn A. M. Versteegh,Marijn A. M. Versteegh,Soeren Wengerowsky,Soeren Wengerowsky,Johannes Handsteiner,Johannes Handsteiner,Armin Hochrainer,Armin Hochrainer,Kevin Phelan,Fabian Steinlechner,Johannes Kofler,Jan-Åke Larsson,Carlos Abellan,Waldimar Amaya,Valerio Pruneri,Valerio Pruneri,Morgan W. Mitchell,Morgan W. Mitchell,Joern Beyer,Thomas Gerrits,Adriana E. Lita,Lynden K. Shalm,Sae Woo Nam,Thomas Scheidl,Thomas Scheidl,Rupert Ursin,Bernhard Wittmann,Bernhard Wittmann,Anton Zeilinger,Anton Zeilinger +31 more
TL;DR: A Bell test is reported that closes the most significant of loopholes that provide loopholes for a local realist explanation of quantum mechanics, using a well-optimized source of entangled photons, rapid setting generation, and highly efficient superconducting detectors.
Journal ArticleDOI
An entanglement-based wavelength-multiplexed quantum communication network
Sören Wengerowsky,Siddarth Koduru Joshi,Siddarth Koduru Joshi,Siddarth Koduru Joshi,Fabian Steinlechner,Hannes Hubel,Rupert Ursin +6 more
TL;DR: A fully connected quantum network is demonstrated in which one source of entangled photons distributes quantum states to four users, with the potential for many more users to be added.
Journal ArticleDOI
Loophole-free Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen experiment via quantum steering
Bernhard Wittmann,Sven Ramelow,Fabian Steinlechner,Nathan K. Langford,Nicolas Brunner,Howard M. Wiseman,Rupert Ursin,Anton Zeilinger +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the first loophole-free demonstration of EPR-steering by violating three-setting quadratic steering inequality, tested with polarization-entangled photons shared between two distant laboratories.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cosmic Bell Test: Measurement Settings from Milky Way Stars
Johannes Handsteiner,Andrew S. Friedman,Dominik Rauch,Jason Gallicchio,Bo Liu,Hannes Hosp,Johannes Kofler,David Bricher,Matthias Fink,Calvin Leung,Anthony Mark,Hien Nguyen,Isabella Sanders,Fabian Steinlechner,Rupert Ursin,Rupert Ursin,Soeren Wengerowsky,Alan H. Guth,David Kaiser,Thomas Scheidl,Anton Zeilinger,Anton Zeilinger +21 more
TL;DR: In tests with polarization-entangled photons, measurement settings were chosen using real-time observations of Milky Way stars while simultaneously ensuring locality, pushing back by ∼600 years the most recent time by which any local-realist influences could have engineered the observed Bell violation.
Journal ArticleDOI
True random numbers from amplified quantum vacuum.
Marc Jofre,Marcos Curty,Fabian Steinlechner,G. Anzolin,Juan P. Torres,Morgan W. Mitchell,Valerio Pruneri +6 more
TL;DR: This work demonstrates efficient conversion of vacuum fluctuations to true random bits using optical amplification of vacuum and interferometry, and demonstrates a QRNG at a bit rate of 1.11 Gbps.
