Inverse magnetic catalysis in the ( 2 + 1 ) -flavor Nambu–Jona-Lasinio and Polyakov–Nambu–Jona-Lasinio models

TL;DR: In this article, a scalar coupling parameter dependent on the magnetic field intensity was proposed to reproduce the lattice QCD results with respect to the quark condensates and Polyakov loop.
Journal ArticleDOI

Deconfinement and chiral restoration within the SU(3) Polyakov--Nambu--Jona-Lasinio and entangled Polyakov--Nambu--Jona-Lasinio models in an external magnetic field

TL;DR: In this paper, the behavior of quark condensates at zero chemical potential and finite temperature subject to an external magnetic field is studied within the three flavor Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model with Polyakov loop (PNJL) and its extension, the so-called entangled PNJL model (EPNJL).
Journal ArticleDOI

Microtextural characteristics of quartz grains transported and deposited by tsunamis and storms

TL;DR: In this paper, a study of quartz grains transported and deposited by tsunami and storm waves with the objective of identifying specific microtextural signatures caused by high-energy marine inundations and to correlate them with their principal sedimentary sources is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Aeolian microtextures in silica spheres induced in a wind tunnel experiment: Comparison with aeolian quartz

TL;DR: In this paper, a wind tunnel experiment was conducted, using glass spheres (>70% SiO 2 ) as a proxy for quartz, with the objective of determining the extent of mechanical damage to silica/glass transported in a mixture with quartz beach sand.
