Anti-vascular endothelial growth factor therapy in pregnancy: What we know, what we don't know, and what we don't know we don't know

TL;DR: The risk posed by any anti-VEGF therapy during pregnancy depends on the extent of systemic drug exposure after treatment, and the exclusion of ranibizumab from the updated safety warning may be explained by the more rapid systemic clearance of ranibercept compared with the other intravitreal antiVEGF drugs resulting in a lower systemic exposure.
