Journal ArticleDOI

Flow induced orientation of multiwalled carbon nanotubes in polycarbonate nanocomposites: Rheology, conductivity and mechanical properties

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of flow field and deformation rate on the nanotube alignment and on the properties of PC/multiwalled carbon nanotubes nanocomposites was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Viscoelastic properties of chitosan solutions: Effect of concentration and ionic strength

TL;DR: In this article, the dynamics of chitosan solutions were investigated in terms of ionic strength, and the relaxation spectra were calculated from the storage and loss moduli characterized in the linear viscoelastic region.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polylactide (PLA)-clay nanocomposites prepared by melt compounding in the presence of a chain extender

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the chain extender and processing conditions on the properties of the PLA-clay nanocomposites were investigated for different strategies of mixing, and the results revealed that the increased molecular weight in the Joncryl-based nanocomposition caused a significant increase in the modulus, drawability and toughness of the samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microporous membranes obtained from polypropylene blend films by stretching

TL;DR: The role of high molecular weight chains on the row-nucleated lamellar crystallization was investigated in this paper, where two linear polypropylenes (PP, having different molecular weights) were prepared to develop microporous membranes through melt extrusion followed by stretching.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of processing on the crystalline orientation, morphology, and mechanical properties of polypropylene cast films and microporous membrane formation

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of air cooling conditions, chill roll temperature, and draw ratio on the crystalline orientation, morphology, mechanical and tear properties of linear polypropylene (L-PP) cast films were investigated.
