TL;DR: In patients with IBD and a history of cancer, exposure to an anti-TNF agent or an antimetabolite after cancer was not associated with an increased risk of incident cancer, compared with patients who did not receive immunosuppression.

TL;DR: Both early and late hospital readmissions are common in patients with IBD, and future prospective studies using larger cohorts of patients are needed to identify modifiable factors in patient care before discharge to improve quality of care, prevent readmissions, and consequently reduce health care costs.
