Aldosterone/direct renin concentration ratio as a screening test for primary aldosteronism: A meta-analysis

TL;DR: This study demonstrates the efficacy of ADRR as a screening test for PA, however, as antihypertensive drugs can interfere with the interpretation of AD RR, it is recommended to interrupt therapy or at least replace with analogues that do not significantly affect the ADRR value.
Journal ArticleDOI

Metformin Inhibits Expression and Secretion of PEDF in Adipocyte and Hepatocyte via Promoting AMPK Phosphorylation

TL;DR: Investigation of the effect of metformin, a widely used agent to improve IR, on PEDF production both in vivo and in vitro found it inhibits the expression and secretion of PEDf in fat and liver via promoting AMPK phosphorylation, which is closely associated with IR improvement.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serum cell-free DNA and progression of diabetic kidney disease: a prospective study.

TL;DR: Serum cfDNA is closely associated with DKD, and it might be a predictor of DKD progression in patients with type 2 diabetes, after adjustment of age, gender, body mass index, fast plasma glucose, smoking, triglycerides, total cholesterol, duration of diabetes, systolic blood pressure, diabetic retinopathy, eGFR, high sensitivity C-reactive protein, angiotensin receptor blocker/ACE inhibitor usage.

Primary aldosteronism concurrent with subclinical Cushing’s syndrome: a case report and review of the literature
