Journal ArticleDOI
Thermoelectric Property Studies on Cu-Doped n-type CuxBi2Te2.7Se0.3 Nanocomposites
Weishu Liu,Qinyong Zhang,Yucheng Lan,Shuo Chen,Xiao Yan,Qian Zhang,Hui Wang,Dezhi Wang,Gang Chen,Zhifeng Ren +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors showed that good reproducibility can be achieved by introducing an optimal concentration of 0.01 copper (Cu) per Bi2Te2.7Se0.3 samples without texturing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Manipulation of ionized impurity scattering for achieving high thermoelectric performance in n-type Mg3Sb2-based materials.
Jun Mao,Jing Shuai,Shaowei Song,Yixuan Wu,Rebecca Dally,Rebecca Dally,Jiawei Zhou,Zihang Liu,Jifeng Sun,Qinyong Zhang,Clarina Dela Cruz,Stephen D. Wilson,Yanzhong Pei,David J. Singh,Gang Chen,Ching-Wu Chu,Zhifeng Ren +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate that by manipulating the carrier scattering mechanism in n-type Mg3Sb2-based materials, a substantial improvement in carrier mobility, and hence the power factor, can be achieved.
Manipulation of ionized impurity scattering for achieving high thermoelectric performance in n-type Mg
Jun Mao,Jing Shuai,Shaowei Song,Yixuan Wu,Rebecca Dally,Zihang Liu,Jifeng Sun,Qinyong Zhang,Clarina Dela Cruz,Stephen D. Wilson,Yanzhong Pei,David J. Singh,Gang Chen,Jiawei Zhou,Ching-Wu Chu,Zhifeng Ren +15 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that by manipulating the carrier scattering mechanism in n-type Mg3Sb2-based materials, a substantial improvement in carrier mobility, and hence the power factor, can be achieved.
Journal ArticleDOI
Joint effect of magnesium and yttrium on enhancing thermoelectric properties of n-type Zintl Mg3+δY0.02Sb1.5Bi0.5
Shaowei Song,Jun Mao,Mitchell M. Bordelon,Ran He,Yanlei Wang,Jing Shuai,Jingying Sun,Xiaobo Lei,Z.S. Ren,Shuo Chen,Stephen D. Wilson,Kornelius Nielsch,Qinyong Zhang,Zhifeng Ren +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, a simple Y doping at the Mg site without adding extra Mg in the initial composition was shown to achieve n-type conduction in Mg3Sb2-based Zintl compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of silicon and sodium on thermoelectric properties of thallium-doped lead telluride-based materials.
Qinyong Zhang,Qinyong Zhang,Hengzhi Wang,Qian Zhang,Weishu Liu,Bo Yu,Hui Wang,Dezhi Wang,George Ni,Gang Chen,Zhifeng Ren +10 more
TL;DR: The ZT improvement by Si addition and Na doping in Tl(0.02)Pb( 0.98)Te sample is the direct result of concurrent electron and phonon engineering by improving the power factor and lowering the thermal conductivity, respectively.
