Nek7 Protects Telomeres from Oxidative DNA Damage by Phosphorylation and Stabilization of TRF1
Rong Tan,Satoshi Nakajima,Qun Wang,Hongxiang Sun,Jing Xue,Jian Wu,Sabine Hellwig,Xuemei Zeng,Nathan A. Yates,Thomas E. Smithgall,Ming Lei,Yu Jiang,Arthur S. Levine,Bing Su,Bing Su,Bing Su,Li Lan +16 more
TL;DR: The data reveal a mechanism of efficient protection of telomeres from damage through Nek7-dependent stabilization of TRF1, and this work identifies Nek7, a member of the Never in Mitosis Gene A (NIMA) kinase family, as a regulator oftelomere integrity.
Journal ArticleDOI
MAP3K2-regulated intestinal stromal cells define a distinct stem cell niche.
Ningbo Wu,Hongxiang Sun,Xiaoyun Zhao,Yao Zhang,Jianmei Tan,Yuanyuan Qi,Qun Wang,Melissa Shu Feng Ng,Zhaoyuan Liu,Lingjuan He,Xiaoyin Niu,Lei Chen,Zhiduo Liu,Hua-Bing Li,Yi Arial Zeng,Manolis Roulis,Dou Liu,Jinke Cheng,Bin Zhou,Lai Guan Ng,Duowu Zou,Youqiong Ye,Richard A. Flavell,Richard A. Flavell,Florent Ginhoux,Florent Ginhoux,Florent Ginhoux,Bing Su +27 more
TL;DR: A subset of intestinal stromal cells that is regulated by the kinase MAP3K2 protects intestinal stem cells against injury by producing the WNT agonist R-spondin 1 as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oncogenic K-ras confers SAHA resistance by up-regulating HDAC6 and c-myc expression.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that oncogenic K-ras contributes to SAHA resistance by upregulating HDAC6 and c-myc expression, and suggests that combined treatment with SAHA and K- rods inhibitors may represent an effective strategy to overcomeSAHA resistance.

Map3k2-Regulated Intestinal Stromal Cells (MRISC) Define a Distinct Sub-cryptic Stem Cell Niche for Damage Induced Wnt Agonist R-spondin1 Production
Ningbo Wu,Hongxiang Sun,Xiaoyun Zhao,Lei Chen,Yuanyuan Qi,Yuheng Han,Xia’nan Liu,Caixia Gao,Qun Wang,Lingjuan He,Xiaoyin Niu,Zhiduo Liu,Hua-Bing Li,Yi Arial Zeng,Manolis Roulis,Dou Liu,Zhengfeng Yang,Bin Zhou,Richard A. Flavell,Richard A. Flavell,Bing Su +20 more
TL;DR: It is shown that Map3k2 has a colon stromal cell specific function critically required for maintenance of Lgr5+ intestinal stem cells and protection against acute intestinal damage, mediated by enhancing Wnt agonist R-spondin1 production.
