Journal ArticleDOI

The future of image-guided radiotherapy will be MR guided.

TL;DR: This review covers where MR-guided RT might be heading in the near future, including the prevalence, history, advantages and disadvantages of these units, several varieties of which have been designed and installed in centres across the globe.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization and clinical evaluation of a novel IMRT quality assurance system.

TL;DR: This work characterized, commissioned, and evaluated the QA capabilities of a novel commercial IMRT device, Delta4, (ScandiDos, Uppsala, Sweden), which consists of diode matrices in two orthogonal planes inserted in a cylindrical acrylic phantom that is 22 cm in diameter.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultra high dose rate (35 Gy/sec) radiation does not spare the normal tissue in cardiac and splenic models of lymphopenia and gastrointestinal syndrome.

TL;DR: The results suggest that, contrary to published data in other models of radiation-induced acute and chronic toxicity, dose rates of 35 Gy/s do not protect mice from the detrimental side effects of irradiation in models of cardiac and splenic radiation- induced lymphopenia or gastrointestinal mucosal injury.
