Treatment of real pharmaceutical wastewater using combined approach of Fenton applications and aerobic biological treatment

TL;DR: The use of Fenton applications as a pre-treatment resulted in a significant enhancement in the BOD5/COD ratio validating the production of easily degradable metabolites or secondary products.
Journal ArticleDOI

A shock like no other: coronavirus rattles commodity markets.

TL;DR: In this paper, a sudden outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has brought global declines in the commodity process, which has majorly affected the demand as well as supply of the commodities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hybrid coagulation, gamma irradiation and biological treatment of real pharmaceutical wastewater

TL;DR: In this paper, a study aimed towards the utilization of hybrid approaches for the effective treatment of real pharmaceutical industry wastewater was presented, which included coagulation treatment, biological treatment and gamma irradiation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electron beam induced degradation of ofloxacin in aqueous solution: Kinetics, removal mechanism and cytotoxicity assessment

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on the assessment of the potency of electron beam (EB) irradiation for the degradation of fluoroquinolone antibiotic ofloxacin (OFC) in aqueous medium and examined the influence of parameters like, initial concentration, solution pH, and presence of various additives viz., NO 3, NO 2 -, propanol, thiourea, H2O2 and different water matrices.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of reaction intermediates of gamma radiation-induced degradation of ofloxacin in aqueous solution.

TL;DR: Degradation rate of OFX was significantly increased with increase in the absorbed dose and decrease in the initial OFX concentration under acidic condition when compared to neutral or alkaline condition and Cytotoxicity study of the irradiated OFX solutions showed that gamma radiation has potential to detoxify OFX.
