Mutations in NALP7 cause recurrent hydatidiform moles and reproductive wastage in humans
Sharlene Murdoch,Ugljesa Djuric,Batool Mazhar,Muheiddine Seoud,Rabia T. Khan,Rork Kuick,Rashmi Bagga,Renate Kircheisen,Asangla Ao,Bhawna Ratti,Samir M. Hanash,Guy A. Rouleau,Rima Slim +12 more
TL;DR: Five mutations in the maternal gene NALP7 in individuals with familial and recurrent HMs are reported, which is the first maternal effect gene identified in humans and is also responsible for recurrent spontaneous abortions, stillbirths and intrauterine growth retardation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluating Progestogens for Preventing Preterm birth International Collaborative (EPPPIC): meta-analysis of individual participant data from randomised controlled trials
Lesley A. Stewart,Mark Simmonds,Lelia Duley,Alexis Llewellyn,Sahar Sharif,Ruth Walker,Lucy Beresford,Kath Wright,Mona M. Aboulghar,Zarko Alfirevic,Azam Azargoon,Rashmi Bagga,Elham Bahrami,Sean C. Rouse,Carol Sakala,Ewoud Schuit,Marie-Victoire Senat,Joe Leigh Simpson,Kate Smith,Anne Tabor,Elizabeth Thom,Melanie A van Os,Evelyn P Whitlock,Stephen J. Wood,Tom Walley +47 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors did a systematic review of randomised trials comparing vaginal progesterone, intramuscular 17-hydroxyprogesterone caproate (17-OHPC), or o 17-OPC with control, or with each other, in asymptomatic women at risk of preterm birth.
Journal ArticleDOI
Women heterozygous for NALP7/NLRP7 mutations are at risk for reproductive wastage: report of two novel mutations.
TL;DR: The data on this new family and on heterozygous women from previously reported families indicate that women heterozygously for NLRP7 mutations are at risk for reproductive wastage without the manifestation of molar phenotype, suggesting thatNLRP7 is not required for normal spermatogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
NLRP7 in the spectrum of reproductive wastage: rare non-synonymous variants confer genetic susceptibility to recurrent reproductive wastage
Christiane Messaed,Wafaa Chebaro,Raphael B Di Roberto,Cécile Rittore,Annie Cheung,Jocelyne Arseneau,Ariel Schneider,Moy Fong Chen,Kurt Bernishke,Urvashi Surti,Lori Hoffner,Philippe Sauthier,William Buckett,Jian-Hua Qian,Nga Man Lau,Rashmi Bagga,James C Engert,Philippe Coullin,Isabelle Touitou,Rima Slim +19 more
TL;DR: The presence of NLRP7 mutations was demonstrated in two patients with recurrent spontaneous abortions, and some rare non-synonymous variants (NSVs), present in the general population, were found to be associated with recurrent reproductive wastage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Obstetric morbidity and the diagnostic dilemma in pregnancy in rudimentary horn: retrospective analysis.
TL;DR: Management of pregnancy in a rudimentary uterine horn continues to be a challenge and a higher degree of alertness, especially in high risk groups by emergency staff is required to prevent the morbidity, as they may present with acute uterine rupture in pregnancy.
