Journal ArticleDOI

Brain Regions Associated with the Expression and Contextual Regulation of Anxiety in Primates

TL;DR: Differences in the neural circuitry mediating the expression compared to the contextual regulation of freezing behavior are demonstrated and are relevant since altered regulatory processes may underlie anxiety disorders.

Meditation and the neuroscience of consciousness

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explore the initial findings of neuroscientific research on meditation; in doing so, the essay also suggests potential avenues of further inquiry, including the use of first-person expertise in relation to the potential for research on the neural counterpart of subjective experience.
Journal ArticleDOI

Visual evoked potential measures of interhemispheric transfer time in humans.

TL;DR: Four experiments testing right-handed adult males examined interhemispheric transfer time estimation with visual evoked potentials (EPs) elicited in response to hemiretinal presentations of checkerboard-flash stimuli indicate that noninvasive estimates of visual IHTT can be obtained in humans.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cerebellar Volume and Cognitive Functioning in Children Who Experienced Early Deprivation

TL;DR: Evaluated data support the importance of experience-dependent changes in cerebellar structure and highlight the role of the cerebellum in higher cognitive functions.
