Journal ArticleDOI
Optimized high-throughput microRNA expression profiling provides novel biomarker assessment of clinical prostate and breast cancer biopsies
Michael D. Mattie,Christopher C. Benz,Jessica Bowers,Kelly Sensinger,Linda Wong,Gary K. Scott,Vita Fedele,David G. Ginzinger,Robert Getts,Christopher M. Haqq +9 more
TL;DR: Findings demonstrate that optimized high-throughput microRNA expression profiling offers novel biomarker identification from typically small clinical samples such as breast and prostate cancer biopsies.
Journal ArticleDOI
MicroRNAs as modulators of smoking-induced gene expression changes in human airway epithelium.
Frank Schembri,Sriram Sridhar,Catalina Perdomo,Adam M. Gustafson,Xiaoling Zhang,Ayla Ergun,Jining Lu,Gang Liu,Xiaohui Zhang,Jessica Bowers,Cyrus Vaziri,Kristen M. Ott,Kelly Sensinger,James J. Collins,Jerome S. Brody,Robert Getts,Marc E. Lenburg,Avrum Spira +17 more
TL;DR: Examination of whole-genome miRNA and mRNA expression in bronchial airway epithelium from current and never smokers found 28 miRNAs to be differentially expressed (P < 0.05) with the majority being down-regulated in smokers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of cellular miRNAs on circulating miRNA biomarker signatures.
TL;DR: It is found that measurement of circulating miRNA levels are frequently confounded by varying levels of cellular miRNAs of different hematopoietic origins, and the intrinsic variability of circulate miRNA species investigated in subsets of healthy males and females.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dendritic Nucleic Acid Probes for DNA Biosensors
Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide maps of circulating miRNA biomarkers for ulcerative colitis.
Radha Duttagupta,Sharon DiRienzo,Rong Jiang,Jessica Bowers,Jeremy Gollub,Jessica Kao,Keith R. Kearney,David S. Rudolph,Noor Dawany,Michael K. Showe,Tom Stamato,Robert Getts,Keith W. Jones +12 more
TL;DR: Analysis of whole genome maps of circulating miRNAs in micro-vesicles, Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells and platelets outlines a promising catalog of novel platelet-derived miRNA biomarkers of clinical utility and provides insight into the potential biological function of these candidates in disease pathogenesis.
