Transport of mercury compounds across bimolecular lipid membranes: effect of lipid composition, pH and chloride concentration
E. Bienvenue,Alain Boudou,J. P. Desmazes,Claude Gavach,D. Georgescauld,Jacqueline Sandeaux,Roger Sandeaux,Patrick Seta +7 more
TL;DR: The results of flux measurements show that two mercury compounds cross the BLM but the overall permeabilities are dependent on the pH of the aqueous media, and are not apparently influenced by the different phospholipid constituents of the bilayers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recovery of spent acid by electrodialysis in the zinc hydrometallurgy industry: Performance study of different cation-exchange membranes
Mario Boucher,Nancy Turcotte,Virginie Guillemette,Gaétan Lantagne,Agnès Chapotot,Gérald Pourcelly,Roger Sandeaux,Claude Gavach +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a performance study of four different cation-exchange membranes was conducted on laboratory and pilot scale (172 cm 2 /membrane, model CS-0 from Asahi Glass Co.) electrodialysis cells, using Neosepta CMS from Tokuyama Soda Co., Morgane CRA from Solvay; Selemion CHV and Nafion 117 from DuPont, coupled with a Morgane ARA 17-10 anion exchange membrane.
Isolation, Purification and Effect on Ionic Permeability of Membranes
Gkrard Helynck,Bang Luu,J. L. Nussbaum,Douglas Picken,Georges Skalidis,Elisabeth Trifilieff,Alain Van Dorsselaer,Patrick Seta,Roger Sandeaux,Claude Gavach,Daniel Simon,Gerard Spach +11 more
TL;DR: Transmembrane ion transfers were studied by 22Na + flux and electrical conductance measurements, and single channel events were observed at low protein concentrations, in particular with one the final homogeneous apoproteolipids of molecular mass 24 kDa.
Journal ArticleDOI
Salicylic acid production by electrodialysis with bipolar membranes
Francisco V. Álvarez,Ricardo Alvarez,José Coca,Jacqueline Sandeaux,Roger Sandeaux,Claude Gavach +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of two commercial bipolar membranes (Tokuyama Soda and Stantech membranes) were compared for salicylic acid and caustic soda production.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transport of Na+ by monensin across bimolecular lipid membranes.
TL;DR: Transmembrane 22Na fluxes across bimolecular lipid membranes are measured under two different experimental conditions: (a) the pH is the same in the two bulk aqueous solutions on either side of the membrane while the concentrations of Na+ are different; (b).
