Journal ArticleDOI
Tumor cell expression of programmed cell death-1 ligand 1 is a prognostic factor for malignant melanoma†
Ryosuke Hino,Kenji Kabashima,Kenji Kabashima,Yu Kato,Hiroaki Yagi,Motonobu Nakamura,Tasuku Honjo,Taku Okazaki,Taku Okazaki,Yoshiki Tokura +9 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the mechanism underlining the immunosuppression of melanoma patients focused on programmed cell death‐1/PD‐1 ligand 1 (PD‐L1) interaction between tumor cells and T cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Treatment and survival among 1594 patients with ATL
Hiroo Katsuya,Kenji Ishitsuka,Atae Utsunomiya,Shuichi Hanada,Tetsuya Eto,Yukiyoshi Moriuchi,Yoshio Saburi,Masaharu Miyahara,Eisaburo Sueoka,Naokuni Uike,Shinichiro Yoshida,Kiyoshi Yamashita,Kunihiro Tsukasaki,Hitoshi Suzushima,Yuju Ohno,Hitoshi Matsuoka,Tatsuro Jo,Masahiro Amano,Ryosuke Hino,Mototsugu Shimokawa,Kazuhiro Kawai,Junji Suzumiya,Kazuo Tamura +22 more
TL;DR: The prognoses of the patients with acute and lymphoma types were still unsatisfactory, despite the recent progress in treatment modalities, but an improvement of 4-year OS was observed in comparison with the previous survey.
Journal ArticleDOI
Augmented expression of programmed death‐1 in both neoplastic and non‐neoplastic CD4+ T‐cells in adult T‐cell leukemia/lymphoma
Takatoshi Shimauchi,Kenji Kabashima,Daiki Nakashima,Kazunari Sugita,Yoko Yamada,Ryosuke Hino,Yoshiki Tokura +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that CD4+ T‐cells are the main PD‐1‐expressing cells rather than CD8+ T-cells in ATL patients, and both neoplastic and normal CD4- cells are exhausted as a result of PD‐ 1 expression, and additionally PD‐L1 expression on the neoplastics cell.
Journal ArticleDOI
Type of skin eruption is an independent prognostic indicator for adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma
Yu Sawada,Ryosuke Hino,Kayo Hama,Shun Ohmori,Haruna Fueki,Shigenori Yamada,Shoko Fukamachi,Makiko Tajiri,Rieko Kubo,Manabu Yoshioka,Daiki Nakashima,Kazunari Sugita,Ryutaro Yoshiki,Takatoshi Shimauchi,Tomoko Mori,Kunio Izu,Miwa Kobayashi,Motonobu Nakamura,Yoshiki Tokura +18 more
TL;DR: Multivariate analysis demonstrated that the hazard ratios of the erythrodermic and nodulotumoral types were significantly higher than that of the patch type, and that the eruption type is an independent prognostic factor for ATLL.
Journal ArticleDOI
A group of atopic dermatitis without IgE elevation or barrier impairment shows a high Th1 frequency: possible immunological state of the intrinsic type.
Rieko Kabashima-Kubo,Motonobu Nakamura,Jun-ichi Sakabe,Jun-ichi Sakabe,Kazunari Sugita,Ryosuke Hino,Tomoko Mori,Miwa Kobayashi,Toshinori Bito,Toshinori Bito,Kenji Kabashima,Kenji Kabashima,Koetsu Ogasawara,Yukiko Nomura,Toshifumi Nomura,Masashi Akiyama,Masashi Akiyama,Hiroshi Shimizu,Yoshiki Tokura,Yoshiki Tokura +19 more
TL;DR: The intrinsic type of Japanese AD patients in the T helper cell polarization in relation to the barrier condition was characterized as the IgE-low group, which had much less FLG mutations, increased frequency of Th1 cells, and lower levels of CCL17.
