An updated review on application of nanofluids in heat exchangers for saving energy
Ahmad Hajatzadeh Pordanjani,Saeed Aghakhani,Masoud Afrand,Boshra Mahmoudi,Omid Mahian,Somchai Wongwises,Somchai Wongwises +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a review on application of nanofluids in heat exchangers has been addressed, and it can be concluded that the use of nanophotonics in most cases improves heat transfer, which reduces the volume of heat exchanger, saving energy, consequently water consumption and industrial waste.
Journal ArticleDOI
A review of melting and freezing processes of PCM/nano-PCM and their application in energy storage
Sara Rostami,Masoud Afrand,Amin Shahsavar,Mohsen Sheikholeslami,Rasool Kalbasi,Saeed Aghakhani,Mostafa Safdari Shadloo,Hakan F. Oztop +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a detailed illustration of phase change materials and their working principle, different types, and properties are provided, and a characteristic example of PCM in solar energy storage and the design of PCMs are reviewed and analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nanofluids: Physical phenomena, applications in thermal systems and the environment effects- a critical review
Ahmad Hajatzadeh Pordanjani,Saeed Aghakhani,Masoud Afrand,Mohsen Sharifpur,Mohsen Sharifpur,Mohsen Sharifpur,Josua P. Meyer,Huijin Xu,Hafiz Muhammad Ali,Nader Karimi,Goshtasp Cheraghian +10 more
TL;DR: A review of literature on the effects of using nanofluids (NFs) in energy systems is presented in this paper, where different types of NFs, including the combination of metal and non-metal particles of nanometer sizes with a base fluid, are introduced.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of free convection heat transfer and entropy generation of nanofluid flow inside a cavity affected by magnetic field and thermal radiation
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of radiation on the convection heat transfer rate and the nanofluid entropy generation within a diagonal rectangular chamber is investigated numerically in the presence of a magnetic field.
Journal ArticleDOI
A comprehensive review on rheological behavior of mono and hybrid nanofluids: Effective parameters and predictive correlations
Hossein Khodadadi,Saeed Aghakhani,Hootan Majd,Rasool Kalbasi,Somchai Wongwises,Somchai Wongwises,Masoud Afrand +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a brief introduction of nanofluid and its applications have been discussed in the first part and the classical equations suggested for predicting the viscosity of nanophotonics and their accuracy have been reviewed.
