Journal ArticleDOI

A New Synthesis of 3-Aryl Substituted Oxindoles.

TL;DR: In this article, a variety of 3-aryl substituted oxindoles can be rapidly constructed by treatment of a suitable 2,2-dimethoxy arylacetanilide, with titanium tetrachloride or boron trifluoride etherate.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Versatile Route to Acyl (MIDA)Boronates.

TL;DR: In this paper , a modular approach to highly functional acyl (MIDA)boronates is described, which involves the generation of the hitherto unknown radical derived from acetyl(MIDA)-boronate and its capture by various alkenes.
Journal ArticleDOI

A New Synthesis of α‐Tetralones.

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that α-tetralones 8a-j can be prepared by radical cyclisation, in the presence of stoichiometric amounts of lauroyl peroxide, of xanthates 5a-k obtained by an intermolecular addition of substituted S-phenacyl xanthate 4a-c to various olefins.
Journal ArticleDOI

A simple construction of the hydroxy ketone side chain of corticosteroids from 17-oxo steroids via nitro olefins

TL;DR: In the presence of catalytic amounts of ethylenediamine, 17-oxo-steriods react smoothly with nitromethane to give the corresponding nitro-olefins as discussed by the authors.
