Journal ArticleDOI
Emissions characterization from EURO 5 diesel/biodiesel passenger car operating under the new European driving cycle
Myriam Lopes,L. Serrano,L. Serrano,Isabel Ribeiro,P. Cascão,N. Pires,Sandra Rafael,Luís A.C. Tarelho,Alexandra Monteiro,Teresa Nunes,Margarita Evtyugina,Ole John Nielsen,M. Gameiro da Silva,Ana Isabel Miranda,Carlos Borrego +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the fuel mixture on vehicle exhaust emissions operating under the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) and in hot operating conditions was analysed, and the authors found that the VOC speciation analysis suggests that the set of VOC present in exhausted gases is clearly fuel dependent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Urban scale air quality modelling using detailed traffic emissions estimates
Carlos Borrego,Jorge Humberto Amorim,Oxana Tchepel,Daniela Dias,Sandra Rafael,E. Sá,Cláudia Pimentel,Tânia Fontes,Paulo Fernandes,Sebastian Rafael Dias Pereira,Jorge M. Bandeira,Margarida C. Coelho +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the atmospheric dispersion of NO x and PM10 was simulated with a second generation Gaussian model over a medium-size south-European city using GPS data.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impacts of green infrastructures on aerodynamic flow and air quality in Porto's urban area
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the influence of a set of resilience measures, based on nature-based solutions, in the wind flow and in the dispersion of air pollutants, in a built-up area in Portugal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluating strategies to reduce urban air pollution
Laura Duque,Helder Relvas,Carlos Silveira,Joana Ferreira,Alexandra Monteiro,Carla Gama,Sandra Rafael,S. Freitas,Carlos Borrego,Ana Isabel Miranda +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the efficiency of these reduction measures with regard to the improvement of PM10 and NO 2 concentration levels over the Porto urban region using a numerical modelling tool.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autonomous vehicles opportunities for cities air quality.
Sandra Rafael,Luís P. Correia,Diogo Lopes,Jorge M. Bandeira,Margarida C. Coelho,Mário Andrade,Carlos Borrego,Ana Isabel Miranda +7 more
TL;DR: Overall the results showed that AV have the potential to improve urban air quality, but, further research is needed to enrich the findings of this work.
