Journal ArticleDOI

Reactive nanostructured membranes for water purification.

TL;DR: The integration of nanostructured materials, enzymatic catalysis, and iron-catalyzed free radical reactions within pore-functionalized synthetic membrane platforms are demonstrated to conduct environmentally important oxidative reactions for toxic organic degradation and detoxification from water without the addition of expensive or harmful chemicals.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetic study of adsorption and photo-decolorization of Reactive Red 198 on TiO2 surface

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a kinetic model for dye adsorption and photocatalytic reaction in the presence of UV irradiation, which is used for dye-house wastewater treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Removal of enzymatic and fermentation inhibitory compounds from biomass slurries for enhanced biorefinery process efficiencies.

TL;DR: Results showed that detoxification of a dilute acid pretreated ponderosa pine slurry by sequential polyelectrolyte and RW-EDI treatments was very promising, with significant removal of acetic acid, 5-hydroxymethyl furfural, and furfurally along with >97% removal of sulfuric acid.
Journal ArticleDOI

Removal of aniline from aqueous solution in a mixed flow reactor using emulsion liquid membrane

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the emulsion liquid membrane (ELM) technique for the removal of aniline from dilute aqueous solution in a mixed flow reactor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on ultrafiltration of spent sulfite liquor using various membranes for the recovery of lignosulphonates

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of continuous diafiltration of spent sulfite liquor (SSL) obtained from the paper industry were carried out through ultra-filtration (UF), and the results showed that CD with a sharp cut-off membrane gave steady flux and a very good rejection of LS.
