Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of a carba-sugar analog of trehalosamine, [(1S)-(1,2,43,5)-2-amino-3,4-dihydroxy-5-hydroxymethyl-1-cyclohexyl] α-d-glucopyranoside, and a revised synthesis of its β anomer

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis of α-D-glucosides was performed by condensation of the newly prepared 3,4,7-tri-O-benzyl-2-deoxy-2p-toluenesulfonamido-5a-carba-α-DLglucopyranose with 1,6-di-O -acetyl- 2,3,4-tri -O-Benzylβ-Dglucophyranoses 2 in the presence of trimethylsilyl trif
Journal ArticleDOI

Inositol Derivatives. 9. Lithium Aluminum Hydride Reduction of Inositol Epoxides and Their Sulfonates

TL;DR: The reduction of two dianhydroinositols with lithium aluminum hydride has been investigated in this paper, where the reduction of 1,2:3,4,dianhydroid-5,6-O-cyclohexylidene-allo-inositol was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pseudo-sugars. XIV: Synthesis of sweet-tasting pseudo-β-DL-fructopyranose

TL;DR: Pseudo-β-DL-fructopyranose was synthesized from DL-1,2-di-O-acetyl-(1,3/2)-3-bromomethyl-5-cyclohexene-1-2-diol by a six steps reaction: dehydrobromination, epoxidation, acetolysis, reduction, and deacetylation as discussed by the authors.
