Journal ArticleDOI
A prospective nationwide study of drug-induced liver injury in Korea.
Ki Tae Suk,Dong Joon Kim,Chang Hoon Kim,Seung Ha Park,Jai Hoon Yoon,Yeon Soo Kim,Gwang Ho Baik,Jin Bong Kim,Young Oh Kweon,Byung Ik Kim,Seok Hyun Kim,In Hee Kim,Ju Hyun Kim,Soon Woo Nam,Yong-Han Paik,Jeong Ill Suh,Joo Hyun Sohn,Byung Min Ahn,Soon Ho Um,Heon Ju Lee,Mong Cho,Myoung Kuk Jang,Sung Kyu Choi,Seong Gyu Hwang,Ho Taik Sung,Jong Young Choi,Kwang Hyub Han +26 more
TL;DR: DILI appears to be a highly relevant health problem in Korea and a more objective and reproducible causality assessment tool is strongly desired as the RUCAM scale frequently undercounts the cases caused by herbs owing to a lack of previous information and incompatible time criteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transglutaminase 2 inhibition found to induce p53 mediated apoptosis in renal cell carcinoma
Bo Mi Ku,Dae Seok Kim,Kyung-Hee Kim,Byong Chul Yoo,Seok Hyun Kim,Young Dae Gong,Soo Youl Kim +6 more
TL;DR: The down‐regulation of TGase 2 was found to stabilize p53 expression, thereby inducing a 3‐ to 10‐fold increase in apoptosis for 786‐O, A498, CAKI‐1, and ACHN cell lines by DAPI staining, implying that induced expression ofTGase 2 promotes tumor cell survival through p53 depletion in RCC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gene expression of NOX family members and their clinical significance in hepatocellular carcinoma.
Hyuk Soo Eun,Sang Yeon Cho,Jong Seok Joo,Sun Hyung Kang,Hee Seok Moon,Eaum Seok Lee,Seok Hyun Kim,Byung Seok Lee +7 more
TL;DR: Gene-neighbour and gene set enrichment analyses revealed that NOX1/2/5 were strongly correlated with genes associated with cancer cell survival and metastasis, whereas increased NOX4 and DUOX1 expression was associated with genes that inhibit tumour progression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Growth Differentiation Factor 15 Predicts Chronic Liver Disease Severity.
TL;DR: This investigation represents the first study to demonstrate the availability of GDF-15 in chronic liver disease and comprised a useful biomarker for the prediction of liver fibrosis and severity in Chronic liver disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical characteristics of 159 cases of acute toxic hepatitis
Sun Hyung Kang,Jeong Il Kim,Kyung Hye Jeong,Kwang Hoon Ko,Pyung Gohn Ko,Se Woong Hwang,Eun Mi Kim,Seok Hyun Kim,Heon Young Lee,Byung Seok Lee +9 more
TL;DR: The severity of liver injury at the time of admission was a major factor significantly associated with the hospitalization and recovery periods and the use of herbal medicines was the main cause.
