Journal ArticleDOI
A prospective nationwide study of drug-induced liver injury in Korea.
Ki Tae Suk,Dong Joon Kim,Chang Hoon Kim,Seung Ha Park,Jai Hoon Yoon,Yeon Soo Kim,Gwang Ho Baik,Jin Bong Kim,Young Oh Kweon,Byung Ik Kim,Seok Hyun Kim,In Hee Kim,Ju Hyun Kim,Soon Woo Nam,Yong-Han Paik,Jeong Ill Suh,Joo Hyun Sohn,Byung Min Ahn,Soon Ho Um,Heon Ju Lee,Mong Cho,Myoung Kuk Jang,Sung Kyu Choi,Seong Gyu Hwang,Ho Taik Sung,Jong Young Choi,Kwang Hyub Han +26 more
TL;DR: DILI appears to be a highly relevant health problem in Korea and a more objective and reproducible causality assessment tool is strongly desired as the RUCAM scale frequently undercounts the cases caused by herbs owing to a lack of previous information and incompatible time criteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term effect of antiviral therapy on disease course after decompensation in patients with hepatitis B virus-related cirrhosis
Jeong Won Jang,Jong Young Choi,Young Seok Kim,Hyun Young Woo,Sung Kyu Choi,Chang Hyeong Lee,Tae Yeob Kim,Joo Hyun Sohn,Won Young Tak,Kwang Hyub Han +9 more
TL;DR: AVT significantly modifies the natural history of decompensated cirrhosis, improving liver function and increasing survival, and underscores the importance of promptly administering potent antiviral drugs to patients under consideration for LT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lamivudine maintenance beyond one year after HBeAg seroconversion is a major factor for sustained virologic response in HBeAg-positive chronic hepatitis B†
Hyun Woong Lee,Hyun Woong Lee,Heon Ju Lee,Jae Seok Hwang,Joo Hyun Sohn,Jae Young Jang,Kijun Han,Jun Yong Park,Do Young Kim,Sang Hoon Ahn,Yong Han Paik,Chun Kyon Lee,Kwan Sik Lee,Chae Yoon Chon,Kwang Hyub Han +14 more
TL;DR: The lamivudine‐induced virologic response was durable in patients under 40 years old and those receiving lamivUDine for more than 12 months after HBeAg clearance or seroconversion, and age and additional treatment were major predictive factors for SVR.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Timing of Bowel Preparation Is More Important than the Timing of Colonoscopy in Determining the Quality of Bowel Cleansing
Chang Soo Eun,Dong Soo Han,Yil Sik Hyun,Joong Ho Bae,Hye Sun Park,Tae Yeob Kim,Yong Cheol Jeon,Joo Hyun Sohn +7 more
TL;DR: The quality of bowel preparation is significantly better in patients with a shorter time between bowel preparation and the start of colonoscopy, and the time of day at which Colonoscopy is performed, whether during the morning or the afternoon, does not have a significant impact on the quality of intestine preparation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Xinxing Tantai,Fanpu Ji,Yi Liu,Yee Hui Yeo,Michael Praktiknjo,Ezequiel Mauro,Yuhei Hamaguchi,Cornelius Engelmann,Cornelius Engelmann,Cornelius Engelmann,Peng Zhang,Jae Yoon Jeong,Jeroen L.A. van Vugt,Huijuan Xiao,Huan Deng,Xu Gao,Qing Ye,Jiayuan Zhang,Longbao Yang,Ya-Qin Cai,Yi-Xin Liu,Na Liu,Zongfang Li,Tao Han,Toshimi Kaido,Joo Hyun Sohn,Christian P. Strassburg,Thomas Berg,Jonel Trebicka,Yao-Chun Hsu,Yao-Chun Hsu,Jan N. M. IJzermans,Jinhai Wang,Grace L. Su,Fanpu Ji,Mindie H. Nguyen +35 more
TL;DR: In this paper, sarcopenia was associated with an increased risk of mortality in patients with cirrhosis, by sex, underlying liver disease etiology, and severity of hepatic dysfunction.
