Journal ArticleDOI
Bone marrow-derived myofibroblasts contribute to the mesenchymal stem cell niche and promote tumor growth.
Michael Quante,Shui Ping Tu,Shui Ping Tu,Hiroyuki Tomita,Tamas A. Gonda,Sophie S.W. Wang,Shigeo Takashi,Gwang Ho Baik,Wataru Shibata,Bethany DiPrete,Kelly S. Betz,Richard A. Friedman,Andrea Varro,Benjamin Tycko,Timothy C. Wang +14 more
TL;DR: It is shown that at least 20% of CAFs originate from bone marrow (BM) and derive from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), and αSMA+ myofibroblasts (MFs) are niche cells normally present in BM and increase markedly during cancer progression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seroprevalence of Helicobacter pylori in South Korea.
Jeong Yoon Yim,Nayoung Kim,Seung Ho Choi,Young Sun Kim,Kyung Ran Cho,Sun Sin Kim,Geom Seog Seo,Heung Up Kim,Gwang Ho Baik,Chan Soo Sin,Sang Heon Cho,Byung Hee Oh +11 more
TL;DR: The aims of this study were to investigate the interval change of seropositivity of H. pylori between 1998 and 2005 in Korean adult population and to find the factors related to H.pylori infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence and risk factors of Helicobacter pylori infection in Korea: Nationwide multicenter study over 13 years
Seon Hee Lim,Jin-Won Kwon,Nayoung Kim,Nayoung Kim,Gwang Ha Kim,Jung Mook Kang,Min Jung Park,Jeong Yoon Yim,Heung Up Kim,Gwang Ho Baik,Geom Seog Seo,Jeong Eun Shin,Young Eun Joo,Joo Sung Kim,Joo Sung Kim,Hyun Chae Jung +15 more
TL;DR: A decreasing trend of H. pylori seroprevalence due to a birth cohort effect requires further studies on its related human host factors as well as socio-economic and hygienic factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
A prospective nationwide study of drug-induced liver injury in Korea.
Ki Tae Suk,Dong Joon Kim,Chang Hoon Kim,Seung Ha Park,Jai Hoon Yoon,Yeon Soo Kim,Gwang Ho Baik,Jin Bong Kim,Young Oh Kweon,Byung Ik Kim,Seok Hyun Kim,In Hee Kim,Ju Hyun Kim,Soon Woo Nam,Yong-Han Paik,Jeong Ill Suh,Joo Hyun Sohn,Byung Min Ahn,Soon Ho Um,Heon Ju Lee,Mong Cho,Myoung Kuk Jang,Sung Kyu Choi,Seong Gyu Hwang,Ho Taik Sung,Jong Young Choi,Kwang Hyub Han +26 more
TL;DR: DILI appears to be a highly relevant health problem in Korea and a more objective and reproducible causality assessment tool is strongly desired as the RUCAM scale frequently undercounts the cases caused by herbs owing to a lack of previous information and incompatible time criteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
