Journal ArticleDOI
ResFinder 4.0 for predictions of phenotypes from genotypes.
Valeria Bortolaia,Rolf Sommer Kaas,Etienne Ruppé,Marilyn C. Roberts,Stefan Schwarz,Vincent Cattoir,Alain Philippon,Rosa Lundbye Allesøe,Rosa Lundbye Allesøe,Ana-Rita Rebelo,Alfred Ferrer Florensa,Linda Fagelhauer,Trinad Chakraborty,Bernd Neumann,Guido Werner,Jennifer K. Bender,Kerstin Stingl,Minh Ngoc Nguyen,Jasmine Coppens,Basil Britto Xavier,Surbhi Malhotra-Kumar,Henrik Westh,Henrik Westh,Mette Pinholt,Muna F. Anjum,Nicholas A. Duggett,Isabelle Kempf,Suvi Nykäsenoja,Satu Olkkola,Kinga Wieczorek,Ana Amaro,Lurdes Clemente,Joël Mossong,Serge Losch,Catherine Ragimbeau,Ole Lund,Frank Møller Aarestrup +36 more
TL;DR: WGS-based AST using ResFinder 4.0 provides in silico antibiograms as reliable as those obtained by phenotypic AST at least for the bacterial species/antimicrobial agents of major public health relevance considered.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outbreaks of monophasic Salmonella enterica serovar 4,[5],12:i:- in Luxembourg, 2006.
Joël Mossong,P Marques,Catherine Ragimbeau,P Huberty-Krau,Serge Losch,G Meyer,G Moris,C Strottner,Wolfgang Rabsch,François Schneider +9 more
TL;DR: Locally produced pork meat is strongly suspected to have been the vehicle for the outbreaks, although the precise mechanisms remain unclear.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multilocus sequence typing, pulsed-field gel electrophoresis, and fla short variable region typing of clonal complexes of Campylobacter jejuni strains of human, bovine, and poultry origins in Luxembourg.
TL;DR: It is indicated that while poultry remains an important source, cattle could be an underestimated reservoir of human C. jejuni cases, and transmission mechanisms of cattle-specific strains warrant further investigation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Human Campylobacteriosis in Luxembourg, 2010–2013: A Case-Control Study Combined with Multilocus Sequence Typing for Source Attribution and Risk Factor Analysis
Joël Mossong,Lapo Mughini-Gras,Christian Penny,Anthony Devaux,Christophe M. Olinger,Serge Losch,Henry-Michel Cauchie,Wilfrid van Pelt,Catherine Ragimbeau +8 more
TL;DR: Besides confirming chicken as campylobacteriosis primary source, additional evidence was found for other reservoirs and transmission routes, and newly identified risk factors included contact with garden soil for either species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influenza D Virus Circulation in Cattle and Swine, Luxembourg, 2012–2016
Chantal J. Snoeck,Justine Oliva,Maude Pauly,Serge Losch,Félix Wildschutz,Claude P. Muller,Judith M. Hübschen,Mariette F. Ducatez +7 more
TL;DR: The authors detected antibodies against influenza D in 80.2% of the cattle sampled in Luxembourg in 2016, suggesting widespread virus circulation throughout the country, and in swine, seroprevalence of influenza D was low but increased from 0% to 5.9% from 2012 to 2014–2015.
