Self – cleaning superhydrophobic coatings: Potential industrial applications
Sanjay S. Latthe,Sanjay S. Latthe,Rajaram S. Sutar,Vishnu S. Kodag,Appasaheb K. Bhosale,A. Madhan Kumar,Kishor Kumar Sadasivuni,Ruimin Xing,Shanhu Liu +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the suspension of hydrophobic silica nanoparticles was dip and/or spray coated on the body of a motorcycle, building wall, mini boat, solar cell panel, window glass, cotton shirt, fabric shoes, paper (currency notes), metal, wood, sponges, plastic and marble.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recent Advances in durability of superhydrophobic self-cleaning technology: A critical review
S. P. Dalawai,Mohamed Aly Saad Aly,Sanjay S. Latthe,Sanjay S. Latthe,Ruimin Xing,Rajaram S. Sutar,Saravanan Nagappan,Chang-Sik Ha,Kishor Kumar Sadasivuni,Shanhu Liu +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, an overview of the fabrication techniques for super-hydrophobic coating and self-cleaning (SC) applications in various fields is presented, along with the critical conclusions, forthcoming views, and obstacles on the field of the durability of SCT are discussed in the presented survey.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural effects of Fe3O4 nanocrystals on peroxidase-like activity.
TL;DR: The results showed that the peroxidase-like activities of the Fe(3)O(4) nanocrystals were structure dependent and followed the order cluster spheres>triangular plates>octahedra; this order was closely related to their preferential exposure of catalytically active iron atoms or crystal planes.
Journal ArticleDOI
A mechanically bendable superhydrophobic steel surface with self-cleaning and corrosion-resistant properties
Sanjay S. Latthe,Pitchaimuthu Sudhagar,Anitha Devadoss,A. Madhan Kumar,Shanhu Liu,Chiaki Terashima,Kazuya Nakata,Akira Fujishima +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a super-hydrophobic steel surface was developed for bending to 90° and 180° and studied the wetting properties on the bent area, which showed absolutely no change in superhydrophobicity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Self-cleaning transparent superhydrophobic coatings through simple sol–gel processing of fluoroalkylsilane
Shanhu Liu,Shanhu Liu,Xiaojing Liu,Sanjay S. Latthe,Li Gao,Seongpil An,Sam S. Yoon,Baoshun Liu,Ruimin Xing,Ruimin Xing +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple one-step approach to fabricate transparent and self-cleaning super-hydrophobic coatings via the sol-gel processing of long-chain fluoroalkylsilane was reported.
