Journal ArticleDOI
Use of a polymerase chain reaction assay to detect and differentiate two strains of Haemobartonella felis in naturally infected cats.
TL;DR: A polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay is more accurate than cytologic examination for detection of H. felis infection and is an effective clinical tool for the detection and differentiation of both H.Felis-OH and H. Felis-CA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Integration of high-resolution array comparative genomic hybridization analysis of chromosome 16q with expression array data refines common regions of loss at 16q23-qter and identifies underlying candidate tumor suppressor genes in prostate cancer.
J.E. Vivienne Watson,Norman A. Doggett,Donna G. Albertson,Armann Andaya,Arul M. Chinnaiyan,Herman van Dekken,David G. Ginzinger,Christopher M. Haqq,Karen James,Sherwin Kamkar,David Kowbel,Daniel Pinkel,Lars Schmitt,Jeffry P. Simko,Stanislav Volik,Vivian Weinberg,Pamela L. Paris,Colin Collins +17 more
TL;DR: A high-resolution genomic microarray of human chromosome 16q was constructed and used for comparative genomic hybridization analysis of 16 prostate tumors, and six genes had significant and consistent downregulation in the tumors relative to normal prostate tissue expression making them candidate tumor suppressor genes.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-Resolution Analysis of Paraffin-Embedded and Formalin-Fixed Prostate Tumors Using Comparative Genomic Hybridization to Genomic Microarrays
Pamela L. Paris,Donna G. Albertson,Janneke C. Alers,Armann Andaya,Peter R. Carroll,Jane Fridlyand,Ajay N. Jain,Sherwin Kamkar,David Kowbel,Pieter-Jaap Krijtenburg,Daniel Pinkel,Fritz H. Schröder,Kees J. Vissers,Vivienne J. E. Watson,Mark F. Wildhagen,Colin Collins,Herman van Dekken +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used archival prostate cancer data for array comparative genomic hybridization with a 2400 element BAC array that provides high-resolution detection of both deletions and amplifications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular analysis of WFDC1/ps20 gene in prostate cancer.
J.E. Vivienne Watson,Sherwin Kamkar,Karen James,David Kowbel,Armann Andaya,Pamela L. Paris,Jeffry P. Simko,Peter R. Carroll,Stephanie J. McAlhany,David R. Rowley,Colin Collins +10 more
TL;DR: WFDC1/ps20 protein has been previously established as a growth suppressor of the prostate cancer cell line PC3.1 and was examined for mutations and expression changes in prostate cancer.
Technical Advance High-Resolution Analysis of Paraffin-Embedded and Formalin-Fixed Prostate Tumors Using Comparative Genomic Hybridization to Genomic Microarrays
Pamela L Paris,Donna G. Albertson,Janneke C. Alers,Armann Andaya,Peter R. Carroll,Jane Fridlyand,Ajay N. Jain,Sherwin Kamkar,David Kowbel,Pieter-Jaap Krijtenburg,Daniel Pinkel,Kees J. Vissers,Vivienne J. E. Watson,Mark F. Wildhagen,Colin Collins,Herman van Dekken +15 more
TL;DR: A straightforward protocol is presented and the utility of archived tissue for array comparative genomic hybridization with a 2400 element BAC array that provides high-resolution detection of both deletions and amplifications is demonstrated.
