Effect of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) on performance, emissions, deposits and durability of a constant speed compression ignition engine

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) on soot deposits, and wear of vital engine parts, especially piston rings, apart from performance and emissions in a two cylinder, air cooled, constant speed direct injection diesel engine, which is typically used in agricultural farm machinery and decentralized power generation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Equilibrium and intra-particle diffusion of stabilized landfill leachate onto micro- and meso-porous activated carbon

TL;DR: Stabilized landfill leachate has previously been treated with activated carbon (AC), however, information on the selectivity of AC depending upon the pore size is minimal, and equilibrium adsorption and intra-particle diffusion of organic matter from stabilized leachates was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of EGR on the exhaust gas temperature and exhaust opacity in compression ignition engines

TL;DR: In diesel engines, NOx formation is a highly temperature-dependent phenomenon and takes place when the temperature in the combustion chamber exceeds 2000 K as mentioned in this paper, therefore, in order to reduce NOx emissions in the exhaust, it is necessary to keep peak combustion temperatures under control.
Journal ArticleDOI

Statistical analysis of optimum Fenton oxidation conditions for landfill leachate treatment.

TL;DR: A robust linear relationship between L(COD) and η holds for Fenton oxidation of raw as well as biological and coagulation treated leachates and can be used as a universal equation to predict Fenton treatment efficiency for a given COD(0) loading in the range of 0.03-72.0 for landfill leachate treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental investigations of heavy metal addition in lubricating oil and soot deposition in an EGR operated engine

TL;DR: In this article, an experimental investigation has been carried out to evaluate the effect of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) on the characteristics of lubricating oil with time of its usage.
