Review on modeling of the anode solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) for lithium-ion batteries
TL;DR: In this article, a review of state-of-the-art modeling progress in the investigation of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) films on the anodes, ranging from electronic structure calculations to mesoscale modeling, covering the thermodynamics and kinetics of electrolyte reduction reactions, SEI formation, modification through electrolyte design, correlation of SEI properties with battery performance, and the artificial SEI design.
Journal ArticleDOI
Materials discovery and design using machine learning
TL;DR: In this paper, the typical mode of and basic procedures for applying machine learning in materials science are outlined and compared, and the current research status is reviewed with regard to applications of ML in material property prediction, in new materials discovery and for other purposes.
Journal ArticleDOI
First principles study of structural, vibrational and electronic properties of graphene-like MX2 (M=Mo, Nb, W, Ta; X=S, Se, Te) monolayers
TL;DR: In this article, the structural, vibrational and electronic properties of the monolayer graphene-like transition-metal dichalcogenide (MX2) sheets were investigated using first principles calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct calculation of Li-ion transport in the solid electrolyte interphase.
TL;DR: A multiscale theoretical methodology is developed to reveal the mechanism of Li(+) transport in a SEI film, applicable to model general transport properties, such as ionic conductivity, for SEI films on the surface of other electrodes, from the atomic scale to the mesoscale, as well as aging phenomenon.
