Surface Analysis of float glass using Surface Ablation Cell (SAC) Part 1: Initial collaboration and comparison with SIMS.

TL;DR: In this article, surface analysis of float glass using surface ablation cell (SAC) is presented. But the comparison with SIMS is not discussed in this paper, only the initial collaboration and comparison is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanical, thermal, and structural investigations of chemically strengthened Na2O–CaO–Al2O3–SiO2 glasses

TL;DR: In this article , a series of conventional soda-lime-silicate glasses with increasing Al2O3 content was investigated for thermal, mechanical, and structural properties before and after K+-for-Na+ ion exchange strengthening by exposure to molten KNO3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of Extracellular Na+ on CCK-8-Induced Insulin Secretion

TL;DR: CCK-8 stimulates insulin secretion by an effect involving phosphoinositide (PI) hydrolysis and release of Ca2+ from intracellular stores and the dependence of Na+ is examined to show that both the second phase of CCk-8-stimulated insulin secretion and the CCK- 8- Stimulated postpeak reduction in [Ca2+]IC are dependent on extracellular Na+.
Journal ArticleDOI

Is TGF-beta a stemness regulator?

TL;DR: In this issue of Blood, Yamazaki and colleagues show that TGF-β inhibits cytokine-mediated LRC clustering in purified HSCs freshly isolated from the bone marrow and induces hibernation of H SCs ex vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI

The stem cell regulator PEDF is dispensable for maintenance and function of hematopoietic stem cells

TL;DR: It is reported that PEDF is not a critical regulatory factor for HSC function during regeneration in vivo or growth of human stem/progenitor cells in vitro.
