Journal ArticleDOI

Hypoxia: a key player in antitumor immune response. A Review in the Theme: Cellular Responses to Hypoxia.

TL;DR: The potential role of hypoxia, a major feature of most solid tumors, within the tumor microenvironment and how it contributes to immune resistance and immune suppression/tolerance and can be detrimental to antitumor effector cell functions is outlined.
Journal ArticleDOI

New insights into the role of EMT in tumor immune escape

TL;DR: Current knowledge of how cellular heterogeneity and plasticity could be involved in shaping the tumor microenvironment (TME) and in controlling antitumor immunity is reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inflammation in benign prostatic hyperplasia: a 282 patients' immunohistochemical analysis

TL;DR: The aim was to characterize inflammatory cells infiltrate within BPH tissue and to correlate inflammation and clinical data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Discovery of non-ETS gene fusions in human prostate cancer using next-generation RNA sequencing

TL;DR: Seven new cancer-specific gene fusions are discovered and characterized, two involving the ETS genes ETV1 and ERG, and four involving non-ETS genes such as CDKN1A, CD9, and IKBKB, genes known to exhibit key biological roles in cellular homeostasis or assumed to be critical in tumorigenesis of other tumor entities.
