Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular Characterization of Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer and Identification of New Drug Targets
Himisha Beltran,David S. Rickman,Kyung Park,Sung Suk Chae,Andrea Sboner,Theresa Y. MacDonald,Yuwei Wang,Karen Sheikh,Stéphane Terry,Scott T. Tagawa,Rajiv Dhir,Joel B. Nelson,Alexandre de la Taille,Yves Allory,Mark Gerstein,Sven Perner,Kenneth J. Pienta,Arul M. Chinnaiyan,Arul M. Chinnaiyan,Yuzhuo Wang,Colin Collins,Martin E. Gleave,Francesca Demichelis,Francesca Demichelis,David M. Nanus,Mark A. Rubin +25 more
TL;DR: There was dramatic and enhanced sensitivity of NEPC (and MYCN overexpressing PCA) to Aurora kinase inhibitor therapy both in vitro and in vivo, with complete suppression of neuroendocrine marker expression following treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamics of genomic clones in breast cancer patient xenografts at single-cell resolution

Marra,Carlos Caldas,Sohrab P. Shah,Sohrab P. Shah,Samuel Aparicio +70 more
TL;DR: The results show that measurement of genomically defined clonal population dynamics will be highly informative for functional studies using patient-derived breast cancer xenoengraftment, and indicates that genomic aberrations can be reproducible determinants of evolutionary trajectories.
Journal ArticleDOI
Androgen receptor gene aberrations in circulating cell-free DNA: biomarkers of therapeutic resistance in castration-resistant prostate cancer
Arun Azad,Stanislav Volik,Alexander W. Wyatt,Anne Haegert,Stephane Le Bihan,Robert H. Bell,Shawn Anderson,Brian McConeghy,Robert Shukin,Jenny Bazov,Jack F. Youngren,Pamela L. Paris,George Thomas,Eric J. Small,Yuzhuo Wang,Yuzhuo Wang,Martin E. Gleave,Martin E. Gleave,Colin Collins,Colin Collins,Kim N. Chi,Kim N. Chi +21 more
TL;DR: The data illustrate that genomic analysis of cfDNA is a minimally invasive method for interrogating mechanisms of therapeutic resistance in mCRPC and suggest that novel agents targeting the androgen–androgen receptor (AR) axis have altered the treatment paradigm.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of the stromal microenvironment in carcinogenesis of the prostate.
TL;DR: The goal of this review will be to apply endocrinologic and developmental concepts to the understanding of normal and malignant prostatic growth to emphasize the role of the stromal microenvironment in the carcinogenic process.
Journal ArticleDOI
The x(c)- cystine/glutamate antiporter: a potential target for therapy of cancer and other diseases.
TL;DR: This review focuses on the expression and function of the x c− transporter in cells and tissues with particular emphasis on its role in disease pathogenesis and the potential use ofx ”c− inhibitors for arresting tumor growth and/or sensitizing cancers.
