Experimental confirmation of the predicted shallow donor hydrogen state in zinc oxide.

TL;DR: It is confirmed that interstitial protium may act as a shallow donor in zinc oxide, by direct spectroscopic observation of its muonium counterpart, and results for the cadmium chalcogenides suggest that such shallow donor states are generic to the II-VI compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxide muonics: II. Modelling the electrical activity of hydrogen in wide-gap and high-permittivity dielectrics

TL;DR: In this article, a wide selection of binary oxides for this behaviour was screened using muonium as an accessible experimental model for hydrogen, and examples of the shallow-donor states that are required for n-type doping were inferred from hyperfine broadening or splitting of the muon spin rotation spectra.
Journal ArticleDOI

Shallow donor muonium states in II-VI semiconductor compounds

TL;DR: In this paper, experimental data on shallow donor muonium states in the tetrahedrally-bonded semiconductor compounds CdS, CdSe, cdTe, and ZnO are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimising a muon spectrometer for measurements at the ISIS pulsed muon source

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the development of a state-of-the-art muon spectrometer for the ISIS pulsed muon source, which is a major upgrade of the highly successful EMU instrument, making effective use of the enhanced flux now available at the ISIS source.
