Journal ArticleDOI

Mediastinal tracheostomy: unilateral resection of the anterior chest wall.

TL;DR: The case of a 55-year-old man who was referred for surgery with post-radiochemotherapy recurrence of a double neoplasm of the pharyngolarynx extending to the proximal trachea and the medial part of the oesophagus, which leads to a reduction in post-operative sequelae is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

The study of olfactory dysfunction in SARS-CoV-2 variants

TL;DR: The study of olfactory function in home-quarantined patients is an important issue for the future regarding the risk of future new-variant COVID-19 waves and the consideration of normosmia according to ≥ 75% correct answers is not a validated threshold, the most reliable psychophysical test remains the threshold, discrimination, and identification (TDI).
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular Imaging of Galectin-1 Expression as a Biomarker of Papillary Thyroid Cancer by Using Peptide-Functionalized Imaging Probes.

TL;DR: Two peptides coupled to ultra-small superparamagnetic particles of iron oxide or to a near-infrared dye for non-invasive detection of galectin-1 expression in a mouse model of papillary thyroid cancer are confirmed to confirm the aptitude of this peptide to discriminate human malignant from benign nodules.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impedance-pH monitoring profile of patients with reflux and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome: A controlled study.

TL;DR: In this paper, the profile of hypopharyngeal reflux events (HREs) of patients was studied through a breakdown of the HEMII-pH findings over the 24-hours of testing, and the relationship between reflux data and the following sleep outcomes: Apnea Hypopnea Index, Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), and paradoxical sleep data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acrokeratosis paraneoplastica (Bazex syndrome).

TL;DR: This work presents a probabilistic analysis of the immune system’s response to otolaryngology-guided head and neck surgery and shows clear patterns of decline in women with prior history of head injury.
