Journal ArticleDOI
Association between laryngopharyngeal reflux and benign vocal folds lesions: A systematic review.
Jerome R. Lechien,Sven Saussez,Sven Saussez,Andrea Nacci,Maria Rosaria Barillari,Alexandra Rodriguez,Serge-Daniel Le Bon,Lise Crevier-Buchman,Bernard Harmegnies,Camille Finck,Camille Finck,Lee M. Akst +11 more
TL;DR: To investigate the role of laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) in the development of benign lesions of the vocal folds (BLVF), a large number of mice were fitted with a EMT procedure to correct for LPR-related reflux.
Journal ArticleDOI
Severity of Anosmia as an Early Symptom of COVID-19 Infection May Predict Lasting Loss of Smell
Jerome R. Lechien,Fabrice Journe,Fabrice Journe,Stéphane Hans,Carlos M. Chiesa-Estomba,Vincent Mustin,Eline Beckers,Luigi Angelo Vaira,Giacomo De Riu,Claire Hopkins,Sven Saussez,Sven Saussez +11 more
TL;DR: The severity of olfactory loss, as detected at the first Sniffin-Sticks-test, may predict the lack of mid-term recovery in patients with sudden-onset LOS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulation of p63 Isoforms by Snail and Slug Transcription Factors in Human Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Michael Herfs,Pascale Hubert,Meggy Suarez-Carmona,Anca Reschner,Sven Saussez,Geert Berx,Pierre Savagner,Jacques Boniver,Philippe Delvenne +8 more
TL;DR: The disruption of p63 expression induced by Snail and Slug plays a crucial role in tumor progression, and p63 and its regulating factors could constitute novel prognosis markers in patients with SCC and attractive targets for the therapeutic modulation of neoplastic cell invasiveness.
Journal ArticleDOI
ACE2 & TMPRSS2 Expressions in Head & Neck Tissues: A Systematic Review.
Jerome R. Lechien,Thomas Radulesco,Christian Calvo-Henriquez,Carlos M. Chiesa-Estomba,Stéphane Hans,Maria Rosaria Barillari,Giovanni Cammaroto,Géraldine Descamps,Julien Hsieh,Luigi Angelo Vaira,Giacomo De Riu,Leigh J. Sowerby,Isabelle Gengler,Justin Michel,Sven Saussez,Sven Saussez +15 more
TL;DR: There was an important heterogeneity between studies in the methods used to detect ACE2 and TMPRSS2, leading to a potential identification bias.
Journal ArticleDOI
Voice outcomes of laryngopharyngeal reflux treatment: a systematic review of 1483 patients
Jerome R. Lechien,Camille Finck,Camille Finck,Pedro Costa de Araujo,Kathy Huet,Véronique Delvaux,Myriam Piccaluga,Bernard Harmegnies,Sven Saussez +8 more
TL;DR: The majority of studies indicated that voice quality assessments (especially acoustic parameters) remain an interesting outcome to measure the effectiveness of treatment, but further studies using standardised and transparent methodology to measure acoustic parameters are necessary to confirm the place of each tool in the LPR disease evaluation.
