Journal ArticleDOI
Survival of 1737 lobectomy-tolerable patients who underwent limited resection for cStage IA non-small-cell lung cancer.
Motoki Yano,Junji Yoshida,Terumoto Koike,Kotaro Kameyama,Akira Shimamoto,Wataru Nishio,Kentaro Yoshimoto,Tomoki Utsumi,Takayuki Shiina,Atsushi Watanabe,Yasushi Yamato,Takehiro Watanabe,Yusuke Takahashi,Makoto Sonobe,Hiroaki Kuroda,Makoto Oda,Masayoshi Inoue,Masayuki Tanahashi,Hirofumi Adachi,Masao Saito,Masataro Hayashi,Hajime Otsuka,Teruaki Mizobuchi,Yasumitsu Moriya,Mamoru Takahashi,Shigeto Nishikawa,Yuki Matsumura,Satoru Moriyama,Takeshi Nishiyama,Yoshitaka Fujii +29 more
TL;DR: If the patient was 75 years old or younger and was judged fit for lobectomy, limited resection for cStage I non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) showed excellent outcomes and was not inferior to the reported results of lobectomy for small-sized NSCLC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tumor size and computed tomography attenuation of pulmonary pure ground-glass nodules are useful for predicting pathological invasiveness.
Takashi Eguchi,Akihiko Yoshizawa,Satoshi Kawakami,Hirotaka Kumeda,Tetsuya Umesaki,Hiroyuki Agatsuma,Takao Sakaizawa,Yoshiaki Tominaga,Masayuki Toishi,Masahiro Hashizume,Takayuki Shiina,Kazuo Yoshida,Shiho Asaka,Mina Matsushita,Tomonobu Koizumi +14 more
TL;DR: Tumor size and CT attenuation were predictive factors of pathological invasiveness for pulmonary GGNs and facilitated more accurate prediction of invasive adenocarcinoma than the use of these factors independently.
Journal ArticleDOI
Computed tomography attenuation predicts the growth of pure ground-glass nodules
Takashi Eguchi,Ryoichi Kondo,Satoshi Kawakami,Mina Matsushita,Akihiko Yoshizawa,Daisuke Hara,Shunichiro Matsuoka,Tetsu Takeda,Kentaro Miura,Hiroyuki Agatsuma,Takao Sakaizawa,Yoshiaki Tominaga,Gaku Saito,Masayuki Toishi,Kazutoshi Hamanaka,Masahiro Hashizume,Takayuki Shiina,Jun Amano,Tomonobu Koizumi,Kazuo Yoshida +19 more
TL;DR: The mean CT attenuation value could be useful in predicting the growth of GGNs, and was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical outcomes in elderly patients administered gefitinib as first-line treatment in epidermal growth factor receptor-mutated non-small-cell lung cancer: retrospective analysis in a Nagano Lung Cancer Research Group study.
Kazunari Tateishi,Takashi Ichiyama,Kazuya Hirai,Toshihiko Agatsuma,Shigeru Koyama,Tsutomu Hachiya,Nobutoshi Morozumi,Takayuki Shiina,Tomonobu Koizumi +8 more
TL;DR: First-line treatment with gefitinib for elderly EGFR-mutated NSCLC patients was effective and well tolerated, and the results suggest that first-line gefithinib should be considered as a preferable standard treatment in elderly patients with advanced NSCLc harboring EGFR mutations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Usefulness of vessel-sealing devices for ≤7 mm diameter vessels: a randomized controlled trial for human thoracoscopic lobectomy in primary lung cancer.
Masayuki Toishi,Kazuo Yoshida,Hiroyuki Agatsuma,Takao Sakaizawa,Takashi Eguchi,Gaku Saito,Masahiro Hashizume,Kazutoshi Hamanaka,Takayuki Shiina +8 more
TL;DR: VSD is simple and safe to use in thoracoscopic lobectomy involving mediastinal lymph node dissection for primary lung cancer and none of the VSDs used in this study presented any observable differences in quality that could lead to clinical problems.
