Proatherogenic Role of Elevated CE Transfer From HDL to VLDL1 and Dense LDL in Type 2 Diabetes
TL;DR: CETP contributes significantly to the formation ofSmall dense LDL particles in type 2 diabetes by a preferential CE transfer from HDL to small dense LDL, as well as through an indirect mechanism involving an enhanced CE transferfrom HDL to VLDL1, the specific precursors of small dense HDL particles in plasma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Action of atorvastatin in combined hyperlipidemia : preferential reduction of cholesteryl ester transfer from HDL to VLDL1 particles.
TL;DR: Data indicate that 2 independent but complementary mechanisms may be operative in the atorvastatin-induced reduction of atherogenic LDL levels in CHL: first, a significant degree of normalization of both the circulating levels and the quality of their key precursors, ie, VLDL1, and second, enhanced catabolism of the major LDL subspecies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Two Conjugated Linoleic Acid Isomers on Body Fat Mass in Overweight Humans
Corinne Malpuech-Brugère,Wilhelmine P.H.G. Verboeket-van de Venne,Ronald P. Mensink,Marie-Agnès Arnal,Béatrice Morio,Marion Brandolini,Asgeir Saebo,Taous S. Lassel,Jean Michel Chardigny,Jean Louis Sébédio,Bernard Beaufrère +10 more
TL;DR: A daily consumption of a drinkable dairy product containing up to 3 g of CLA isomers for 18 weeks had no statistically significant effect on body composition in overweight, middle-aged men and women.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of low-fat, fermented milk enriched with plant sterols on serum lipid profile and oxidative stress in moderate hypercholesterolemia
Boris Hansel,Catherine Nicolle,Florent Lalanne,Françoise Tondu,Taous S. Lassel,Yves Donazzolo,Jean Ferrières,Michel Krempf,Jean-Louis Schlienger,Bruno Vergès,M. John Chapman,Eric Bruckert +11 more
TL;DR: Daily consumption of 1.6 g PS in low-fat FM efficiently lowers LDL cholesterol in subjects with moderate hypercholesterolemia without deleterious effects on biomarkers of oxidative stress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cis-9, trans- 11 and trans-10, cis-12 conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) do not affect the plasma lipoprotein profile in moderately overweight subjects with LDL phenotype B
Elke Naumann,Yvon Carpentier,Asgeir Saebo,Taous S. Lassel,Jean-Michel Chardigny,Jean-Louis Sébédio,Ronald P. Mensink +6 more
TL;DR: In humans with LDL phenotype B, c9, t11 CLA and t10, c12 CLA do not beneficially change risk factors for cardiovascular disease or diabetes.
