Quantum key distribution over 25 km with an all-fiber continuous-variable system

TL;DR: In this paper, a reverse-reconciliated coherent-state continuous-variable quantum key distribution system is described, with which secret keys are generated at a rate of more than 2 kb/s over 25 km of optical fiber.
Journal ArticleDOI

Field test of a continuous-variable quantum key distribution prototype

TL;DR: A prototype that implements a continuous-variable quantum key distribution protocol based on coherent states and reverse reconciliation, which uses time and polarization multiplexing for optimal transmission and detection of the signal and phase reference, and employs sophisticated error-correction codes for reconciliation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improvement of continuous-variable quantum key distribution systems by using optical preamplifiers

TL;DR: This paper deriving the modified secret key generation rates when an optical parametric amplifier is placed at the output of the quantum channel shows that the use of preamplifiers does compensate all the imperfections of the detectors when the amplifier is optimal in terms of gain and noise.
Journal ArticleDOI

Field test of classical symmetric encryption with continuous variables quantum key distribution.

TL;DR: This field test was the first demonstration of the reliability of a CVQKD system over a long period of time in a server room environment, and strengthens the potential of CVZKD for information technology security infrastructure deployments.

SECOQC White Paper on Quantum Key Distribution and Cryptography

TL;DR: It is detailed how the work on QKD networks lead within SECOQC will allow the deployment of long-distance secure communication infrastructures based on quantum cryptography, and what may be the next challenges in this direction.
