Electrothermal simulation of bonding wire degradation under uncertain geometries
Thorben Casper,Herbert De Gersem,Renaud Gillon,Tomas Gotthans,Tomas Kratochvil,Peter Meuris,Sebastian Schöps +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the design of bonding wires with respect to thermal degradation is investigated by multiphysical field simulations using the Finite Integration Technique (FIT), and the resulting variability of the wire temperatures is determined using the stochastic electrothermal field-circuit model.
Dissertation
Electrothermal Field and Circuit Simulation of Thin Wires and Evaluation of Failure Probabilities
TL;DR: A method to automatically generate netlists describing general discretized field problems is presented, which allows a straightforward field-circuit coupling by adding any additional circuit elements to the generated netlist that represents the field problem.
Journal ArticleDOI

Duque Guerra,Thorben Casper,Herbert De Gersem,Ulrich Römer,Pascal Reynier,Patrice J. Barroul,Denis A. Masliah,Benoît Rousseau +35 more
TL;DR: The FP7 project nanoCOPS derives new methods for simulation during development of designs of integrated products and covers advanced simulation techniques for electromagnetics with feedback couplings to electronic circuits, heat and stress.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Increasing EM Robustness of Placement and Routing Solutions based on Layout-Driven Discretization
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a method to discretize placement and routing solutions to enable a fast electromigration analysis and suggest adjustments to enhance the EM robustness based on early analysis results.
Journal ArticleDOI
High Dimensional Uncertainty Quantification for an Electrothermal Field Problem using Stochastic Collocation on Sparse Grids and Tensor Train Decomposition
TL;DR: In this article, a stochastic electrothermal problem featuring 12 bondwire-related uncertainties is considered, and the impact of the uncertain inputs on the temperature developed during the duty cycle of an IC is quantified.
