Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of optical quality metrics to predict subjective quality of vision after laser in situ keratomileusis.
TL;DR: The ability of wavefront error–derived metrics to predict subjective quality of vision was limited and the VSOTF, calculated for the best‐corrected eye, showed the highest predictability.
Journal ArticleDOI
The structure of client language and drinking outcomes in project match.
TL;DR: The structure of client language is characterized by factor analyzing frequency counts of several categories of client speech and results provide limited support for a model proposed by Miller et al. (2006) but with some important differences.
Journal ArticleDOI
Motion-onset visual evoked potentials predict performance during a global direction discrimination task.
TL;DR: The relationship between behavioral measures and several visual evoked potentials related to global motion onset during a visual motion discrimination task was examined and latencies showed that latencies from three VEP components reliably predicted about 40% of the variance in reaction times for motion discrimination.
Journal ArticleDOI
Visual cortical activity reflects faster accumulation of information from cortically blind fields
Tim Martin,Tim Martin,Tim Martin,Anasuya Das,Anasuya Das,Krystel R. Huxlin,Krystel R. Huxlin +6 more
TL;DR: Within cortically blind subjects, activity in perilesional tissue, V3A and hMT+ was associated with a faster accumulation of information for deciding direction of motion of stimuli presented in the blind field, suggesting that the rate of information accumulation is a critical factor in the degree of impairment in cortical blindness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effective Patient-Provider Communication in Pediatric Obesity.
April Idalski Carcone,Angela J. Jacques-Tiura,Kathryn Brogan Hartlieb,Terrance L. Albrecht,Tim Martin +4 more
TL;DR: Motivational interviewing is a patient-centered, directive communication framework appropriate for in health care and recommends informing, asking, and listening for provider communication skills responsible for evoking change talk.
