Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of sonication on microbial disinfection using hypochlorite.

TL;DR: The effect of the timing of the ultrasonic treatment at 20 and 850 kHz on the biocidal efficiency of sodium hypochlorite solution towards Escherchia coli suspensions is explored.
Book

Practical sonochemistry : uses and applications of ultrasound

TL;DR: An introduction to uses of power ultrasound in chemistry can be found in this paper, where the authors describe the ultrasonic bath, ultrasonic probe and scale-up and flow systems used in chemistry experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effects of ultrasound on cyanobacteria

TL;DR: The results indicate that sonication may provide a more environmentally friendly and more effective method for the control of cyanobacteria blooms than conventional treatments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Developments in ultrasound--non-medical.

TL;DR: In this review some recent developments with major potential are identified from the fields environmental protection and materials processing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of sonication frequency on the disruption of algae.

TL;DR: The results showed that reduction in the number of algae was frequency dependent and that the highest efficiency was achieved at 2.3 MHz, and it is considered here that physical effects of ultrasonication were responsible for algae disruption.
