Proceedings ArticleDOI

A new Scanning Transmission X‐ray Microscope at the ALS for operation up to 2500eV

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report on the design and construction of a higher energy Scanning Transmission X-ray Microscope on a new bend magnet beam line at the Advanced Light Source.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inner-shell electron energy-loss spectroscopy of SF6 at very high momentum transfer

TL;DR: In this paper, the S 2p and S 2s core excitation of SF 6 has been studied using inelastic electron scattering with variable scattering angles and impact energies (momentum transfer (K), 09 K 2 −2 ) and the first Born approximation fails under low impact energy, large scattering angle conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical and Morphological Inhomogeneity of Aluminum Metal and Oxides from Soft X-ray Spectromicroscopy.

TL;DR: Combined, the Al K-edge XAS and STXM results provided detailed chemical information that was not obtained from powder X-ray diffraction or imaging from a transmission electron microscope, which suggests that the structures of different Al2O3 layers have an important role in the accessibility of the underlying Al metal toward further oxidation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photofragmentation of OCS at the S 1s edge

TL;DR: In this article, the photofragmentation of carbonyl sulphide following sulphur 1s excitation has been investigated using monochromated synchrotron radiation and ion time-of-flight mass spectroscopy.
