Journal ArticleDOI
Biomarker analysis in oesophagogastric cancer: Results from the REAL3 and TransMAGIC trials
Alicia Okines,D. Gonzalez de Castro,David Cunningham,Ian Chau,Ruth E Langley,L.C. Thompson,Sally P. Stenning,C. Saffery,Yolanda Barbachano,Fareeda Y. Coxon,Gary Middleton,David R. Ferry,Tom Crosby,Srinivasan Madhusudan,Jonathan Wadsley,Justin Waters,Marcia Hall,Daniel Swinson,A. Robinson,Darrin P. Smith,Jorge S. Reis-Filho,Tom Samuel Waddell,L. Puckey,S. Hulkki Wilson,Zakaria Eltahir,M. Band,A C Wotherspoon +26 more
TL;DR: The RR of 52% in REAL3 with mEOC+P met pre-defined criteria to continue accrual to phase III and the frequency of the mutations was too low to exclude any prognostic or predictive effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term results and recurrence patterns from SCALOP: a phase II randomised trial of gemcitabine- or capecitabine-based chemoradiation for locally advanced pancreatic cancer.
Chris Nicholas Hurt,S Falk,Tom Crosby,Alec McDonald,Ruby Ray,George Joseph,John Staffurth,Ross A. Abrams,Gareth Griffiths,Tim Maughan,S. Mukherjee +10 more
TL;DR: SCALOP showed that patients with CA19.9<613 IU l−1, and shorter tumour diameter after induction chemotherapy are more likely to benefit from CRT, and CAP-CRT predicted improved OS and PFS in the pre-radiotherapy model.
Journal ArticleDOI
A prospective comparison of multidisciplinary treatment of oesophageal cancer with curative intent in a UK cancer network
Richard Adams,Matt Morgan,Saptarshi Mukherjee,Alison Brewster,Tim Maughan,D Morrey,Timothy Havard,Wyn G. Lewis,Wyn G. Lewis,G. Clark,S Roberts,L Vachtsevanos,J Leong,R. Hardwick,D Carey,Tom Crosby +15 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that in patients who are deemed unfit for surgical intervention, definitive chemoradiotherapy remains a viable alternative; they also lend further support to selected case triple modality therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Phase I–II Study of Postoperative Capecitabine-Based Chemoradiotherapy in Gastric Cancer
Edwin P.M. Jansen,Henk Boot,Mark P. Saunders,Tom Crosby,R. Dubbelman,Harry Bartelink,Marcel Verheij,Annemieke Cats +7 more
TL;DR: This Phase I-II dose-escalation study shows that intensified chemoradiotherapy with daily capecitabine is feasible in postoperative patients with gastroesophageal junction and gastric cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic significance of circumferential resection margin involvement following oesophagectomy for cancer and the predictive role of endoluminal ultrasonography.
TL;DR: A positive CRM was a better predictor of DFS and OS than standard pTNM stage and endosonographic features that predict a threatened CRM+ were identified.
