Journal ArticleDOI

Density functional theory and molecular clusters

TL;DR: DFT interaction energy exhibits the same basis set extension dependence as the Hartree‐Fock (HF) interaction energy, so the Boys‐Bernardi function counterpoise procedure should be employed for elimination of the DFT basis set superposition error.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physical properties and in vitro transfection efficiency of gene delivery vectors based on complexes of DNA with synthetic polycations.

TL;DR: Despite the complexity of the multistep transfections process, a direct correlation between the transfection efficiency in vitro and the stability of the complexes in NaCl solutions and coagulation in 0.15 M NaCl solution was found.
Journal ArticleDOI

Temperature-controlled behavior of self-assembly gene delivery vectors based on complexes of DNA with poly(L-lysine)-graft-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)

TL;DR: Synthetic gene delivery vectors based on polyelectrolyte complexes of nucleic acids and polycations are widely studied as safe substitutes of viral vectors and are synthesized in this work.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cationic Graft Copolymers as Carriers for Delivery of Antisense-Oligonucleotides

TL;DR: In this article, a self-assembling system based on ionic complexes of DNA fragments (36 base pairs), bcl-2 antisense oligonucleotides (octadecamer), oligophosphates (25 phosphate groups) with acrylic oligomers (18 groups of phosphonic acid) grafted with short poly[N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide] (PHPMA) chains (M n = 4 300 or 8 600) were studied by static and dynamic light scaltering methods as systems suitable for gene therapy applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of Molecular Integrals in a Mixed Gaussian and Plane-Wave Basis by Means of the Faddeeva Function and Its Derivatives

TL;DR: In this paper, the Faddeeva function is used to evaluate two-electron free-free exchange integrals and integrals with three Gaussians and one plane-wave function that are required in calculations of electron scattering by polyatomic molecules.
